Rent a scooter:

For the brave at heart only!  Seriously…If you have previous experience driving through Italy then you know what I am talking about. Drivers will drive on the sidewalks, straight at pedestrians and other vehicles on the wrong side of the street, cut you off and flip you the finger if you get in their way or dare to defend yourself. You can drive a scooter up to 125cc with no motorcycle license required.  *Anything 150cc and up does  requires a valid motorcycle license.  To rent a scooter, you must be over eighteen and hold a valid driver’s license. All major credit cards are accepted as well as cash. Helmets, insurance and bike locks are usually included with your fee and GPS navigation devices can be rented at an additional cost. (Ask if you are unsure).  Take a scheduled tour from the rental company such as what they have at Bicibaci.com (They have over 10 amazing ones to choose from!)

*For the first time or those a bit timid, try renting a scooter on a Sunday when it is way less crowded.  You will see mostly tourists out and about, or in the evenings during the week.  We couldn’t believe the difference with the traffic and crowds on Sundays.

Fun Things to Know About Having Your Wedding Photos in Rome

By: Tracey Manailescu

I’m back from my whirlwind trip, and kind of wishing I was still there.  The food, the wine, the gelato, the view, the people, the gelato…Oops!  I already said that, but to me it is worth repeating, LOL!

While I was in Rome, I toured many historic locations and worked with two wedding photographers for not one, but two wedding style shoots! What an amazing experience that I would gladly do over again and again.  I met some very talented vendors that I would gladly work with again, in a heartbeat!

Something that caught my attention was how the locals responded to our team for the wedding photos all around the city.  They would stick their heads out of their windows, come down from their apartments to get a better view, patiently wait for us to finish our photos before driving through, and offering to be in the photos with our lovely brides (models). If you have ever been to Rome, you know this is no small feat! Most drivers have race car training as part of getting their license, I believe. 🙂

Both photographers were so happy to have a fun and a little bit ‘whacky’ type of photo-shoot.  Not to mention, they both had a fantastically clever and whacky side to them, too.

Thank you both for being so wonderful and easy to work with 🙂

Both companies had fantastic ideas, and found us great locations to have our photo-shoots in Rome.

Tip: Make sure to bring a comfy pair of shoes, because there are so many amazing spots to get photos and you don’t want to miss out.  We ended up buying our Bride (model) a pair of flip flops in a nearby piazza, because we started in one area, and happily ended up about an hour’s walk  away.  There are also tons of places to buy water or pop to cool down.
