Real Wedding Wednesday- Vanessa and Desmond

Tracey M Events had the pleasure of working with Vanessa & Desmond this summer.

Here are some of the beautiful moments captured by Studio 2000:

What happens when two headstrong people fall in love? Compromise. What did you think I was going to say?  These two knew what they wanted, and worked beautifully together for decisions, except for the battle of what would be the first dance…LOL!

Lots of laughter, and a ton of family and friends who love them, were there to to celebrate their big day.

Vanessa was so unhappy with her first purchased wedding gown after she tried it on again, so she hopped in her car and drove to Manhatten to Kleinfeld Bridal 🙂

Yup, folks.  She is on her cellphone.

Fun Things to Know About Having Your Wedding Photos in Rome

By: Tracey Manailescu

I’m back from my whirlwind trip, and kind of wishing I was still there.  The food, the wine, the gelato, the view, the people, the gelato…Oops!  I already said that, but to me it is worth repeating, LOL!

While I was in Rome, I toured many historic locations and worked with two wedding photographers for not one, but two wedding style shoots! What an amazing experience that I would gladly do over again and again.  I met some very talented vendors that I would gladly work with again, in a heartbeat!

Something that caught my attention was how the locals responded to our team for the wedding photos all around the city.  They would stick their heads out of their windows, come down from their apartments to get a better view, patiently wait for us to finish our photos before driving through, and offering to be in the photos with our lovely brides (models). If you have ever been to Rome, you know this is no small feat! Most drivers have race car training as part of getting their license, I believe. 🙂

Both photographers were so happy to have a fun and a little bit ‘whacky’ type of photo-shoot.  Not to mention, they both had a fantastically clever and whacky side to them, too.

Thank you both for being so wonderful and easy to work with 🙂

Both companies had fantastic ideas, and found us great locations to have our photo-shoots in Rome.

Tip: Make sure to bring a comfy pair of shoes, because there are so many amazing spots to get photos and you don’t want to miss out.  We ended up buying our Bride (model) a pair of flip flops in a nearby piazza, because we started in one area, and happily ended up about an hour’s walk  away.  There are also tons of places to buy water or pop to cool down.

Having an Outdoor Wedding? Use These Tips to Keep Your Guests Happy

Written by: Tracey Manailescu

So you are having an outdoor wedding. Hopefully you have considered the obvious things like a back up plan in case of rain, a generator, washrooms, bug control, dance floor, heels sinking into the ground etc. The list goes on and on.  Hiring a wedding coordinator is a no-brainer, as so much goes into the logistics and planning.  Having vendors that are experienced with outdoor weddings is imperative. Start with contacting us at Tracey M Events.

Having said that, here are some things you can prepare ahead of time to make your guests feel comfortable at your outdoor wedding:

*Outdoors=Bugs.  Have some bug spray available for guests to put on as they come into your outdoor wedding space.  Off! Deep Woods Insect Repellent Towelettes (comes with 12)

*If your guests do get bit or stung, have some after bite care available for them such as Safetec Sting Relief packets (they actually come in bulk with 100 in the box)

*The sun can be very tricky.  Applying sunscreen at home at the beginning of th eday or not at all may not be top of mind fo ryour guests.  Have some SunX Ultra Protection sunscreen avaialble for them to avoid being uncomfortable and sunburns (25 in a box)

* Bounce dryer sheets. It will chase ants away. Put it under the picnic blankets, tables seating areas and voila!  No ants & a nice smell, too.

When the sung goes down, the evening may get chillier then expected. Why not have some pashmina’s available for your guests to cozy up with? Keep them in your colour scheme to continue with your theme.

*Dancing the night away? Keep their feet happy.  Offer a pair of flipflops from a basket.  Go to Old Navy (they have $1 days) or even the Dollar Store. *Again, buy them in your colour scheme to continue with your theme.

It really is the special touches and the flow of events that your guests will remember. These are just some special touches for you to keep in mind, that your guests will appreciate. Keep them happy, and enjoy your wedding!
